La Polla empanadas came to light in the year 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic touched each and everyone of our lives in different ways.
I am a mother of 3 beautiful, fine young ladies, that are always my motivation to keep me going with great energy and passion. After a 22 year career, working for a large commercial airline in the customer service field. I decided that it was time to make a decision that would shake and remold the core of my scheme. The nickname of La Polla was given to me by my two best friends, Liz and Stefano, who as my coworkers, took me under their wing, when I started working at Newark International Airport. Once they glanced at me, they said “you look like a little chicken, we will call you La Polla”. Making these empanadas from scratch, transported me back to my childhood times in Argentina with my grandmother, rolling the dough on our thick kitchen wooden table, where I learned how to make these delicious and flavorful empanadas from my family’s recipes. My wish is for everyone to enjoy my assorted homemade empanadas, which I make with lots of love, giving it all from my heart and soul. The exciting part for me, is seeing all the smiles, after every bite you take of my empanadas. Buen provecho!
